This week we had two school events, the talent show and holiday parade. Adelaide and her friends Shonali and Michelle decided on their own to put together an act for the Talent Show. They sang a song about Jasmine flowers in mandarin that they learned on their own. We were so proud of their initiative!

Steven has been on a roll with his drawing lately. He's been using our Ed Emberly books to draw Santa, Christmas Trees, and reindeer. We're pretty impressed at how good he's getting.
Santa is awesome, even if he is
flipping the bird ;). In fact, we like
him better for that reason.

The biggest event of the week was the PB Holiday Parade. The Barnard students were all invited to march in the parade. And, Eleanor's class got to preform a song and dance in front of the grand stand. They learned Jingle Bell Rock in Chinese and danced with giant candy cane.
At first the boys were sad that they didn't get to march too. But, while the girls marched in the parade route, the boys roamed the streets, getting free candy canes, hot cocoa, cookies, and Santa hats. It wasn't long before they felt that they had the better activity.
Adelaide was a little sad that there
weren't more 3rd graders that showed up.
But, Eleanor gave her all the snuggles.

A nice pose!
Waiting for our turn to march.
We marched near the preservation band, which was
so fun. A great soundtrack to our walk.

After the parade, they got Candy Canes
from their teachers.
Santa on a truck! Steven was beside himself.
After the parade, we celebrated a job well done
with dim sum and grandparents.
On Sunday night, we broke in Melinda's new giant thermos by going to the LDS temple to see the lights and drink hot coco. Not so many photos. The boys were pretty rowdy and ended up getting taken back to the minivan early while everyone else kept walking. Dang it! Sometimes mom follows through on those threats. Not often, but sometimes!
