Legoland Hotel Adventurers

Way back in the spring, when we renewed our Legoland passes, we were give a free night's stay at the hotel. Since there are so many black out days, we called and booked our room months in advance to get a good night. We were excited to grab a Friday right after Thanksgiving, so we could enjoy the Christmas decorations (before all of December was blacked out).

We were put in an adventurer room this time. The kids were thrilled by the snakes, mummies, and pyramids. Every room has two sides, one with a bunk bed and TV for the kids, and the queen bed for the grownups. A bathroom is between. The kids were so excited to have their own space.

After exploring the room, and doing the scavenger hunt to get the clues needed to unlock our room safe (there were minifigures inside!), we headed down to the activities in the lobby. The kids entered the lego building contest, challenged with building something to eat. They all did a great job! The boys, like everyone in the under five year category, had a bit of help. When called up to present, Steven nailed it.

Pirate: What did you make?
Steven: Watermelon.
Pirate: How long did it take?
Steven: 10
Pirate: Ten minutes... ten years."
Steven: 10 (big smile, holds up watermelon).

As the only one in the junior category that smiled most and spoke into the mic, he was a shoe-in to win. He was so proud when they handed him his $5 gift card. In the morning, he got himself a Lego City car.

Stay out of the kid's area!

Steven, the big winner!

Ninja moves!

After dancing, singing along with pirate Christmas carols, and building so many Lego creations, it was time for bed. But, they weren't so sad, because they knew in the morning they'd get to go to the breakfast buffet. Adelaide explained to her brothers why the buffet was so awesome, "If you want pancakes or waffles, you don't have to choose! Just get both!"

These Lego bakers are making a mess!

That's a big book.

Jefferson, so excited about the ice cream.

Adelaide: Who threw this pie?
Steven: Heeheehee…. I dunno..

Ice cream for breakfast?
That one was all Dad.

Oops... ultimate time out jail.

Legoland recently opened a second, all castle themed hotel across the way from their current hotel. While waiting for the park to open, we went over to the new hotel to check out their amenities. The kids loved the slide in the lobby and the big playground.

They found a wizard! It's almost Harry Potter!

Finally, the park opened and we used our early access bands to get in early. They only open a handful of rides, and so even though only hotel guests are in the area, it's still super long lines. But, we were the first ones through so we got to the safari ride with no waiting. The kids loved seeing all the lego Christmas sculptures up, and Adelaide did her first time in the coding adventure (you have to be 9 or a 3rd grader, so she only recently qualified).

employees for snapping one for us.

On the way back, all the kids fell asleep in the car. The girls rarely nap in the car anymore, so we know we really must have worn them out!

STRIKE! We knocked them all out.

Even our big girl.

After recuperating, the kids found the energy to go to the Ward Christmas Party and meet another Santa. They will pose with any Santa that is passing out free candy canes. Yum!

Sorry we squished you Santa!
