Heartlake City

Today, Legoland opened up a new attraction at the park, Heartlake City. The area includes a splash pad, stage, a carousel and some shops. It's all based on the "girl-themed" lego sets. Lots of pink and purple, flowers and hearts.

The girls have been giggly with excitement, looking through the splits in the wooden fences during the construction. So, for the grand opening, we played hooky and took them to the park. Matt wasn't able to ditch work quite so early after returning, so Uncle Jed stepped in to help corral the kids for the day.

We rode the carousel, we checked out the pink stuff, and then hit some of our favorites at the park. A misty, drizzly morning helped keep the crowds down so we got to go on quite a few rides. As the clouds burned off midday, the lines began to pick up and our little ones began to wear down. So, we called it a great day and headed out.

Uncle Jed was paid handsomely for his support
with a double decker lego couch and
peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

We're sure we'll be spending a lot more time in the Heartlake City section of the park, at least until Steven is old enough to protest.
