Last week was a hard week. Adelaide spent almost the entire week home from school with an acute infection in her adenoids, a lymph node swollen to the size of a baseball and mono. No fun at all!
Adelaide is on the road to recovery now, but under strict orders to take it very, very easy. So, this week, Matt and Melinda were determined to cheer
everyone up with some fun surprises.
What a stroke of luck that Monday was St. Patrick’s Day! The girls came out to quite a surprise - their very own St. Patrick’s Day adventure.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
If this picture doesn't break your heart,
then you don't have one! She wanted
to show her Dad how brave she was after her
blood draw and fourth doctor's appointment,
because she wasn't crying... but soooo sad.

What a stroke of luck that Monday was St. Patrick’s Day! The girls came out to quite a surprise - their very own St. Patrick’s Day adventure.
One of our staple shows is Dora the Explorer. In the show,
Dora and other characters will often “jump” into books to help the characters.
Adelaide expresses frequently how much she wishes and wishes she could jump
into her books.
So, this St. Patrick’s Day, Melinda made a book adventure
the kids could follow along with, including pictures of their favorite
characters and toys, as well as tasks for them to complete.
The adventure started when the girls woke up and came out of
their room, to see – What is this? Leprechauns on the dining room table having
a party with Dora the Explorer and Boots! Oh, and of course the super cool
leprechaun hats their Dad made for them.
That’s where they discovered the book. Adelaide was so
excited as she pretended to jump into the pages. Eleanor just likes jumping. We
were off!
Oh no! Swiper the Fox has stolen
the Leprechauns' Pot of Gold!
The Map says we need to go through
the Disney Princess Castle, past the Ikea Farm
and to the end of the rainbow. Vamanos!
The doors on the Princess Castle only opened if
you say, "Abre," or, "Open," in Spanish. Or, if
Eleanor rushes ahead and pushes them open for you.
Swiper scared all the animals away from the farm,
fortunately Adelaide and Eleanor were there to
search the living room and bring them all back.
Let's see what I do next...
Swiper! He's on the balcony.
Swiper, no swiping!
The chocolate was Eleanor's favorite part.
Our brave explorers followed up
their adventure with a hearty bowl of
green oatmeal and regular-colored raisins.
Mmmmmmm....
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
