The Crimes of Grindelwald

It's no secret that we've got some pretty big Harry Potter fans in the house. So, the girls were so thrilled when Mom announced she'd take them to the Crimes of Grindelwald fan event, a whole two days before the movie release. It was even on a school night, AND they got popcorn, doesn't get much ore special than that!

So excited about their poster!

Movie Time!

On Saturday we went to the fan event at Barnes & Noble. It was fun, even though one of the employees got irritated at our family for winning the trivia so much and started pretending not to hear the kids when they answered correctly. Grumpier than a Gringotts Goblin. But, the kids still earned enough tickets to do well in the drawing at the end.

The kids were sorted into groups. The boys went off to Gryffindor with Dad, the largest of the groups. The girls proudly marched under the Hufflepuff banner. The smallest of the groups. They smiled and tried to talk every new family into joining Hufflepuff, and even convinced a few defectors from other houses. A Ravenclaw girl even joined up just cause she wanted to hang with Adelaide, who seemed to love Harry Potter as much as she did (they were bffs for the whole hour).

After the events, the kids entered the tickets they won into a raffle. Adelaide was over the moon to win a time turner. Eleanor got a mini Dobby statue. Steven won a Hermione Granger prop kit. Steven could care less about the actual contents of the kit, but loved that he had something his sisters wanted. He enjoyed showing it off all afternoon, taking everything out item by item, then putting them away again. Jefferson didn't win anything, and he was a little bummed. But, the girls gave him the booklets that came with their prizes and he was happy as could be.

Hufflepuffs forever!

Newt let Adelaide hold her Niffler.
Now she desperately wants one for Christmas.

Eleanor enjoyed snuggling the demiguise.

Snape doesn't approve of all these
shenanigans.
