Matt's break is over! He is the newest Senior Manager at the Coker Group. We're so excited for him to start his new job. The Coker Group is based in Atlanta, but Matt will be working from home.
He's starting tomorrow with a trip out to their home office, which meant he needed to fly out Easter afternoon. So, we moved some of our Easter celebrations up a day, with a delicious Easter Eve feast on Saturday night.

place-cards for everyone.
Matt's flight didn't leave until the afternoon. So, he was able to enjoy Easter baskets and an egg hunt with the kids. The kids were so excited to come down to some small toys in their baskets. Then a delicious Easter breakfast and egg hunt.
The Easter Egg hunt was color-coded. Each child had their own color of plastic eggs to find, which made it easier to hide the girls' eggs in harder spots while the boys eggs were left out and about. Jefferson knew all about hunting eggs from the church Easter egg hunt. However, those eggs had slips of paper inside. These ones had candy! He was so happy. He could not be rushed. One egg at a time, eat the candy, then move on. It probably took him 45 minutes to gather all his eggs.

Found one!
Mr. Slow and Steady.
The color-coded egg hunt went well! We only had one mishap. We couldn't find one of Eleanor's eggs. Later, we checked the boys baskets and realized...oops, of course they picked up one of hers by mistake. But, at the time, after being unable to locate it, Matt created a quick sub egg and hid it while the kids were all looking for the egg (everyone joined in). At last! Found it.

After church the boys played and the girls began their work on some "buried rock" kits. The kits contained small polished rocks, but first you have to dig them out. The small plastic picks were slow going. Adelaide groaned, but dutifully followed the directions. Eleanor, looked at her rock, thought about it, then picked it up and smashed it on the table. It split in half and her rock popped out. She picked it up and skipped off to wash it. Adelaide's jaw dropped..."Mom! Eleanor just... she... can, I do that?" Rocks free, the girls were able to spend their time reading about them in Adelaide's rock book.
Our out of the box thinker.
Ready to free her rock.
It was a wonderful Easter! A new start to spring, a new start for Matt at Coker. And, a lot of egg salad sandwiches for the next week.
