March Picture Madness

So, we've got a bunch of pictures here for early March. Might as well throw them up in a catch-all post. Sound good? Good.

At the end of February... which isn't early March, but close, Grandma and Grandpa came down to finish the sale on their home in Canyon Lake. The kids were so excited to spend the weekend with them!

 Grandpa!

 Grandma!

The following weekend had no grandparents. Alas! The kids were bummed. But, we did get free passes to the Children's Museum from the library. So, Steven got to paint a wagon. Not so bad.

Hey buddy, you missed a spot.

Vroom, vroom... here comes the crash.

 Spider Girls! Spider Girls!

And, Grandma Mikki had a birthday! Hooray!

 Happy Birthday to You!

Since Matt is in between jobs, he got to play with the kids on the preschool's teacher in-service day. He took them to Legoland AND the beach. Super Dad skills right there.

 Steven on the Ninjago spinners.

Eleanor still wants to be a pilot when
she grows up, along with a mommy, an orphanage
director, a doctor and a soldier. Go girl!

How many boys can you fit in a selfie?

 Happy faces!

 And, then the beach!

Plus, the playground at the beach! Wow, what a day!

Next weekend, Jefferson has another surgery, this time with the GI team. This recovery could be more intense, we won't know until they operate. So, this weekend we tried to get out to see all the wildflowers the record rain fall has brought... knowing we might not have another chance to get out with the kids before they all wilt.

Unfortunately, trying to find the trail head from the vague online directions led us on a circuitous, non-floral route. The kids started cheerfully, but after a mile were in revolt! No poppies this weekend. But, we made them exercise, so we're still winning parenting. Right?

At the start of our hike, everything was cool.

 See how chill Steven is?

Jefferson starts to appeal to his
sister... "I tired sissy."

 Two boys down...

No longer smiling for the camera...

Oh well, we tried. The kids also released Eleanor's birthday butterflies (her "babies") this weekend and helped their Dad pick all the oranges on our tree. Whew! Busy, busy.

 Come out buddy-fly!

 Our littlest helpers mostly moved
the oranges from one bowl to another.

But this power house team
cleared over a hundred oranges from
the branches!

And, that, was March Picture Madness. It's better than the real March Madness, because you don't have to pick a favorite picture. They are all winners (unlike our brackets this year...).
