Adelaide's Debut + Jefferson's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

This week, Adelaide's school had half days for teachers' conferences. The PTA sponsored an after school performance workshop, and Adelaide decided to audition. For our normally shy girl this was a big deal. She was cast as Mushroom #1 in Rapunzel. An important job! She led all the other first grade mushrooms on to stage and had to hit her mark perfectly so the mushrooms would be in the right spot.

The day of the big performance arrived and our little mushroom was cute as can be. She knew all her songs and her fan club was ready to see her perform... until... poor Jefferson got so sick.

Jefferson ended up back in the ER after his fever spiked to 103. Afraid it may have something to do with the surgery, the doctor sent us back to Rady's. Jefferson was so dehydrated, it took six tries and three different nurses to his IV inserted. He ended up having a terrible stomach flu, which is just not a great thing to get right after having a surgery on your GI track.

Several hours later, things stabilized enough that Jefferson could drink some liquid and go home. But, he wasn't up for seeing sissy's play. Straight to bed at home for lots and lots of rest.

The show must go on! Melinda rushed from the hospital to the school just in time to see Adelaide's big performance while Matt took the boys for some R&R. And, while her whole fan club wasn't present, Eleanor cheered loud enough to make up for it.

 Mushroom #1, ready to go.

I saw my sissy!
