We're Ninjas Now

Legoland opened their new Ninjago ride this week. Steven desperately wanted to go, as part of his birthday celebrations... or so his sisters assured us.

So, Saturday morning we braved a rare rainy day to head to Legoland and check it out. While we didn't enjoy the wet when we were running from the parking lot to the entrance of the park, in retrospect, it kept the lines down so we were able to enjoy the ride with no wait time.

 Channeling her inner dragon! Grrr...

Eleanor was born in the year of the dragon, she
reminds us that they are actually very nice animals.

Sensei Wu, they are ready to train!

Using their new ninja skills to fight off...
this fire, dragon lego bird thing.

The ride itself was pretty awesome. We all got 3-D glasses, and when we karate chopped over the sensors, fire and lightening shot across the screens, destroying bad legos.

Steven was exceptionally excited about yelling "hiya" at everything, and has been channeling his inner ninja ever since. His ninja career was almost derailed when he grabbed a fork off the table and hiya-ed Adelaide in the arm.

Fortunately, his sister has the patience of a zen master. She executed a brilliant spin escape and flee manuever. Once Steven learned he had done an "ow ow ow" to Adelaide, he threw the fork down and hid under the table crying until Adelaide crawled under and got him. He cuddled in her lap saying "Sor sor" for a few minutes. He swore off ninja moves for at least ten minutes.
