Keeping Cool

August was a scorcher! Okay, not really. Not compared to the rest of the country. We weren't in the triple digits or anything, and there was a nice coastal breeze. But... anyhow... it was HOT.

Fortunately, we've found lots of fun ways to keep cool.



While at the beach, the girls

prefer to hang out in the sand.

 



But, Steven can't wait to splash in the water.

chalk was only so-so.

 

It was more melty than chalky.

 

But, Eleanor and Steven loved

running through the hose when

clean up time came.

 

The inflatable swimming pool Aunt Eve

brought over has been a huge hit.

 



 As are the squirt guns she gave the kids!

to our backyard splash-zone.  

And, if all else fails, head to Grandma and Grandpa's.

They're a few miles closer to the beach, and

you can't beat those cool evening breezes or the fabulous company.

 

Plus, they have figs!  



 And sometimes high fives too!
