We love this time of year. The hot, humid weather is gone. The leaves on the trees are vibrant colors. And, just about every weekend you have your pick of harvest festivals and Halloween parties. It's one last big hurrah before the weather turns cold.
Of course, we're flying west before the weather turns cold. But, we're still enjoying one last "traditional" fall with all the glorious foliage before moving to San Diego, land of eternal spring.
We did FINALLY get a contract on the house that didn't fall through. The first two backed out because of cold feet, so we were very relieved when the current buyer didn't jilt us after the home inspection. His offer came after the girls decorated the house for Halloween. We're pretty sure their construction paper masterpieces sealed the deal.
Now that the house is under contract, we aren't under quite as much pressure to be out of it all the time. But, there have been so many fun things to do that we've still been pretty busy. However, it's nice to have a place to return to for nap time.
We hit up the Falls Church Halloween Carnival as well as our friends the Arringtons' annual Halloween bash and our church's Halloween party. And, we even threw a pre-school friend's birthday party into the mix last week.
And, that's a recap of Hallo-week, or the week leading up to the main event. More cute costumed kid pictures and over ambitious pumpkin carving pics coming soon!

Adelaide: "We made the house soooo Spooky!"
Eleanor: "Boo! Boo! Boo!"
Eeek! Spider Wall!
Another ghost, Eleanor loves "Boo-ing!"
He's a friendly jack-o-lantern puppet. Friendly, and scary!

Some how this seems like cheating.
But, they still gave her a prize.
After a month of fall festivals, Eleanor is
getting tired of posing on hay bales for our camera.

Happy Birthday Optimus!
Optimus has a peanut allergy too, so he and
Adelaide eat together a lot. They are good buds.
Did we mention his party was a polka-dot
rainbow afro party? The best kind.
Melinda has won "spookiest food" at the
Arringtons' Party most of the years we've attended.
Old chucky claimed her another victory this year!
Take that witch!
The kids have had WAY too much sugar this week month.
Eleanor is in her back up "scrubs" since she
chocolated her doctor's coat at the ward party.
