The kids were so excited to have a day off of school. SO excited. And so, they were SO crushed when Mom and Dad announced that there had been a big mistake. Everyone was loaded up into the car and hustled off toward Pacific Beach.
The boys were indignant. Eleanor was cheerful, figuring at least she had missed some school. Adelaide was distraught. What had she missed, was her homework done, would her teacher be mad?
When we passed the school and headed into Sea World, there was great relief in the backseat of the car. And, since we took them to see dolphins, they decided to forgive us. But, Adelaide warned us not to do that again, because... homework is serious business.
Zodiac sign outside Sea World
A dophin and a little girl bouncing up
and down together.
Just hanging with the fishes.
Fish face!
Steven was so excited when he heard there was a shark tunnel. But, when he actually got into the shark tunnel, he decided better of it and high-tailed it through at warp speed. Never meet your heroes. Jefferson posed for a picture in the shark tunnel while Matt ran off to find where Steven ended up (practically to the exit before we caught that speedy dude).
Ahhh! Shark.
So, we found some less deadly looking creatures to hang out with. The kids had a blast at the dolphin and seal shows. We got annual passes so we look forward to coming back again.
Waiting for the dolphin show to start.
The flamingos were so stinky. The girls ran to pose,
than backed up as far as they could.
Perfect picture spot
Hanging out with Dad,
in a shark-free zone.
