Happy Heart Day

Well, Melinda finally gave in. After years of doing homemade cards with the girls, this year we bought the Target ones. The kids enjoyed it equally as much as previous years' craft projects. Maybe even more, since there was less work to do for them. Just sign you name on the dotted line! Still, we can't help but think that somewhere out there is a Pinterest employee that is oh so disappointed in us.

 Eleanor's cards were taco themed...
with cheesy puns. Pretty classic Eleanor.

Adelaide had glow in the dark space stickers.
Come to think of it, classic Adelaide too.

Matt surprised Melinda by bringing flowers to her office (swoon). Cubicles are dreary, fresh cut flowers always make the desk so much nicer!

 Pink glitter heart and everything.

We had a "mailbox" on our mantle this year for the kids to put cards in. Eleanor enjoyed spending the last month stuffing it with "I LUV U" cards to "Mome," "Dade," "Ad-dad" and "Brothrs." So, it was pretty full on Valentine's day. In addition to all of Eleanor's sweet cards, the kids found some surprises from Mom, Dad, and Grandma and Grandpa.

Is that a full mailbox I spy?

 Valentine from Grandma and Grandpa!

Mom and Dad provided the candy
hearts... but grandparents sent stickers!

Matt continued his charm offensive by cooking a homemade dinner and even doing the dishes. Jefferson adorably carried around his bag of Valentine's cards from school all evening, announcing they were his "pres-sens" from his friends. So good to have friends and get presents! He went to sleep holding his bag and smiling to himself. A sweet way to end a sweet day.
