Here is us, 22.5 hours ago (more or less, it took 22.5 hours from hotel to home). One last breakfast with this amazing view of Victoria Harbour.
Misty Morning in Hong Kong
Hong Kong's airport is a pretty easy one to navigate. The ticketing agents at Delta even gave our kids stickers and coloring packets. And, because we're still in China, asked to take pictures with our girls. Even in an international airport, they are a rarity.
Decked out - thanks to Delta!
On the day we got Jefferson, Steven (with a sudden urgency), popped up over the seat on the bus ride back to the hotel and asked him, "Like Lego, brother? Like Lego?" Well, here at the airport, Steven finally got his answer at the children's play area. Jefferson does like both building and smashing Lego towers. Whew! They can still be buddies.
Like Lego, brother?
Fast forward about 14 hours and we were back on US soil! Wahoo! The kids slept for about half the flight, and behaved pretty darn well, all things considered. The girls loved the snacks and the TV. Jefferson watched Zootopia about four times with his headphones off - hey, whatever makes him happy. Steven also watched a lot of Zootopia - headphones on.
When we got to SeaTac, the custom's agent reviewed Jefferson's paperwork and with a stamp on his passport made it official. He's a US Citizen! Wahoo!
America just got a little more awesome.
While the kids slept on the plane, we were mostly up - juggling whoever wasn't sleeping at the moment, or holding someone who would only sleep on a lap (boys!). So, we were pretty exhausted during the layover. Thank goodness for good big sisters.
Eleanor keeping the boys entertained. And, because
she's a great big sister, she didn't even care when
they scribbled on her pictures.
And, finally, at last, we're home! We celebrated with a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Wait... did that say relaxing? We meant splashy and rambunctious. Jefferson was delighted and showed the same propensity Steven has to launch himself into the deep water with no regard for consequence and a faith that surely someone will pull him out eventually. We'll be investing in a few more floaties.
We're so glad to be home and look forward to catching up on sleep over the next couple days and getting back into the routine with our newest son and brother! Welcome home Jefferson!
