The weather is San Diego was beautiful this past month! And, we enjoyed taking every advantage.
Adelaide's after school ballet class ended in May with an adorable little ten minute performance. Adelaide misses her ballet lessons already. She had so much fun with Miss Ophelia.
We spent a Saturday morning enjoying
the gardens at Balboa Park.
A little girl + a fountain. It makes
for a cute picture, don't you think?
The Timken museum was having their art tales and mini masters class.
Technically, our kids were too young, But, after an initial frown from the docent,
she let them stay because they obviously knew their way around glue sticks.

The curators loved their art so much they took a
picture to use on future flyers. Good luck keeping the
5 and unders out if you put Eleanor on your front page...
Balboa Park even has a tandem purple dinosaur bouncer!

All the little ballerinas in training.
Adelaide and Miss Ophelia.
Melinda started working at Infantino in April, a company that makes baby toys and products. The girls have been invited in a couple of times to help out already. One day, we needed Eleanor to sit on a prototype training potty to help us check the scale.
Playing in Mommy's office.
Adelaide was so impressed that
Mom has her very own purple room.
They are always richly rewarded
for their consultative services.
This month we also introduced the kids to Legoland. Melinda worked there in high school as a model citizen (ride operator). Even with the expansions, she could navigate that park blindfolded and walking backward.
At theme parks, Adelaide's height can be an advantage. She's tall enough to go on almost any ride. The five-year old boys in her class at school had been bragging about how they were finally tall enough to ride Legoland rollercoasters now. They told her she probably wasn't tall enough, because she was three. Adelaide alternated between being excited by the thought of rollercoasters, and broken hearted that she might be too short. We told her she's almost four and easily taller than most of the "kindergarten" boys. She was thrilled to find out she was tall enough for a roller coaster.
She and Matt went on the dragon rollercoaster while Eleanor napped in the stroller. Legoland coasters are pretty tame, but still intense for little kids. Poor Adelaide, add roller coasters to her list of things she doesn't understand about boys (next to dirt, yelling, bugs and The Avengers). When we asked her what her favorite ride was when we were leaving, she told us, "All of them except that roller coaster."

Adelaide taking command of the Fire Patrol.
We found all the secret keys
in the Johnny Thunder, Lost Temple maze.
Lego cows! Lego cows! LEGO COWS!
Miniland was fun to explore, though the miniature
Washington DC made us a little homesick. Sniff, sniff.
A Royal Joust
This young captain lapped three other boats in
her race around the skipper school.
This crew navigated through a HUGE boat pile up
that Eleanor and Melinda in no way caused... for the most part.
Ahhhh! Eleanor flipped out and cried until
Adelaide came out of the shark mouth.
May has been a great month! The weather is fine and we're loving exploring all the cool things to do in our new home.
