President's Day weekend was full of a lot of ups and downs for us. We did some fun things and were visited by some of our favorite people. But… we also had two separate trips to urgent care and a sad, sick baby on our hands.
On Saturday, we went to check out the Mormon Battalion Museum. The museum includes "talking" pictures that tell the story of the battalion. The kids were pretty worried during the tour. They took the special effects seriously. Adelaide covered her head in the "rainy" mercantile store, and Eleanor booked it out of the room during the Battle of the Bulls. But, they loved the courtyard full of activities.
It was a great day. Unfortunately, Sunday wasn't as much fun. Eleanor rolled out of bed crying and crying, "ear, ear, ear…" It was pretty clear what was wrong. Off she went to Urgent Care where they confirmed that her ears were red and inflamed.

Adelaide got to keep two pieces of the
"gold" that she panned up.
Eleanor was all about the splashing.
Pumping a drink for Mom.
View from the tower was beautiful.
She was a pretty good sport in the urgent care.
Monday we were back to having a great time. Matt's grandparents drove out from Utah and his sister and her husband were down from LA. It was so great to see everyone and the girls were ecstatic to have so many fun people to play with them.
Sweet Grandma Jones brought them matching dresses.
Grandpa Jones gives awesome piggy-back rides.
Dinner at Fidel's.
Unfortunately, after we all went back for bed time, Eleanor's eyes started to bother her. Back to the urgent care to get some pink eye medication. Grandma and grandpa were still in town on Tuesday, but with a tired, sick and contagious girl, we didn't get to see as much of them.
Matt was able to go to the San Diego Temple that evening with his grandparents, which was a special experience. So, all in all, a good weekend. Poor Eleanor had a rough time of it, but benefited from all the extra people around to help cuddle her better.

wow what lucky girls to have so many great-grandparents!!
