As soon as the Christmas decorations came down, Adelaide wanted to know what we were going to decorate for next. So, our home has been festooned with red and pink hearts for over a month now.
We kicked off Valentine's a little early this year. Matt surprised Melinda with flowers and chocolate the day before Valentine's Day, after a particularly rough morning with the kids.
In the evening, Matt and Melinda snuck out for a rare kidless date night. It took a little longer to get out of the house then we were hoping, so we missed our dinner reservation. However, the Chinese food place just around the corner from the theatre had delicious egg drop soup and a super friendly waiter. So, no loss there.
After a quick bite to eat, we ran over to the theater to see our favorite comedian Brian Regan. He was every bit as hilarious as we could have hoped. We'll be quoting the jokes and cracking each other up for months. It was an incredible evening.

A Chinese lantern made it's way onto
our Valentine's wall. It's all love.
If you were a member of Adelaide's pre-school class on Valentine's Day, you would have received your very own Olaf the Snowman Valentine's Day card - hand signed by Adelaide with an otter pop carefully taped to the back. She worked for over an hour to put them all together and was so excited to share them with her class.
This girl is a sweetheart.
Some people are worth melting for… (so here's a "melted" otter pop).

A little bit of love for Melinda.
The kids had to wait until the 14th to get their Beary-Cute valentines from Mom and Dad. Eleanor's class skipped the card exchange. But, Adelaide was happy to share her valentines with her sister when they both came home from school.
Adelaide was so excited, she carefully read the names of her classmates on every card. Eleanor sat next to her in rapt attention looking at all the pictures and delighting that her sister gave her almost all the candy. Adelaide was only able to keep one piece after Mom reviewed the ingredients for allergy info. But, she didn't care. She wanted the cards. Every one was special to her because it was from a friend.
Sugar? Yes please.
So hard to pose for a "matching shirts" picture
when all you want to do is rip the top off the
gummy bear package and pour them in your mouth.
The girls also got cool coloring card valentines
from Grandma and Grandpa Parker.
Mom probably liked this surprise in the mail
even more than the kids - because it gave her
free time to make their dinner.

The placemat informed us that two "boars"
were incompatible. But, Melinda
just put her bowl on top of that.
A blurry snap shot from inside the dark theater.
Take Luck!
