We are 21 degrees warmer today than we were yesterday. At last, San Diego! We're ready for exciting future adventures in our new home.
Here's our move, in a nutshell...
Rip-off all the chains on
your Moving Day countdown.
Good bye furniture!
Set out surprise bribery toys to help keep the
morale of the little travelers up.
Lots of unpictured cleaning, packing and not so much sleeping. BIG shout out to Beth for picking us up at 4 am to take us to the airport.
Cheery little travelers - 10 minutes in
and the bribes dolls are working so far.
Kiss, Kiss, I love my dolly.
Ready to board! Princesses safely
stored in the carry-on.
DC to Atlanta flight? Easy, easy. Eleanor slept and Adelaide played with her doll.
Atlanta snack break!
Atlanta to San Diego flight off to a good start.
Oh no! The baby is awake, quick, do something.
Want to listen to some business
audio books on the iPad?
Noooooo!!!!
Our sincerest apologies to everyone on Southwest Flight 3024 for Eleanor's hour long dramatic performance.
While everyone was trying to pacify Eleanor,
Adelaide did her own thing. Bless those
responsible older siblings.
By hour 4 the toys Mom packed were old news.
Time to play with Dad's watch, the seat belts,
cups of ice and the tray tables.
Gimme this baby, I'll hold her.
Big sister to the rescue.
I can see it! I can see San Diego!
Baggage spotter at work.
Picked up by (Great) Uncle Dave!
14 hours later - COLLAPSE!
Noooo! Don't pass out on us Eleanor. We need to adjust to PST time. You'll be up at 3 am…
Dora the Explorer marathon to postpone bed time.
But seriously… now we're all going to collapse. Good night!

Oh man, lots of flashbacks right at this moment! Your descriptions are way too good, and remind me of our move. I dont think i ever want to go on another flight again... but looks like you guys were troopers! and you are there! Can't wait to hear about the new adventures. Happy sleep!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed by how quickly you blogged about your travels! So glad you're home safe. Can't wait to see you guys!
ReplyDeleteyayayayayayyyyy welcome!!!!! ^_^ give a ring if you need anything :)
ReplyDeleteGood mommy! Impressive moving report and quick blogging. I could tell you about my move to San Diego in the late 90's but I would sound like a very old lady saying equivalent of, "We used to walk 5 miles each way to school in the snow". But seriously, I am relieved you did not have to make the long distance move the way we did when Matthew was 4 years old! It took much more than dolls to satisfy him along the journey - but we all survived. When I come to visit we should find Matthew's first public school and take Adelaide to see it in Mira Mesa. We can take both girls to the park that Matt, aunt Jessica and I spent hours at years ago.
