Last Saturday we were privileged to attend the wedding of Matt's little sister, Kristin, and her best friend, James Hilton. It was a beautiful, sunny day. In addition to adding an incredible new brother-in-law to our family, we were also able to catch up with many long-lost relatives that came for the event.
Okay, that's not quite fair. Technically, we're the long-lost relatives, since we are the crazies that moved out to the east coast. Either way, it was a lot of fun seeing everyone.
Mr. and Mrs. Hilton!
Melinda's brother and his wife drove all the way down from Rexburg, ID to help Matt's sister Jessica watch the kids while Matt and Melinda attended the ceremony. But, though the girls truly love their aunts and uncle, they firmly insisted that Mommy stay with them.
Pretty please, don't leave us Mommy.
It would be so nice if you stayed outside.
So, only Matt went inside for the temple sealing. But, that's okay. We were just happy for the day. And, the kids screamed so loud that they could be heard inside the building. We've decided to call this impressive, rather than embarrassing.
What, me? Cause a ruckus? Never.
Then it was on to the reception! James's sweet and dear family set up all the decorations (they were really the nicest people, we loved meeting them). And, many relatives from both sides contributed to the food. It was a beautiful and perfect event.
Matt and his lovely sisters!
Alas, he's been outnumbered his whole life.
Hooray for a new brother!
Adelaide catches up with her Great-Grandma Donna.
Sarah (cousin) and the sisters couldn't resist
a Charlie's Angels pose.
Sarah's daughter Ashley became quick buddies
with Adelaide. They ran all over the reception and
snatched more brownies than we could keep track of...
It was so nice to get some quality time in with
Matt's Grandma and Grandpa Jones!
How we miss all these people.
Adelaide thought Kristin looked just like a princess.
(She was right!)
Three princesses!
Adelaide was a little too short to catch the bouquet.
But, that's okay. Her Dad will still
be her main man for many years to come.
Matt's mom looked too young and pretty to be the
mother-of-the-bride, or a grandmother for that matter.
But, she gives awesome grandma hugs!
Off they go to their happy ever after!
We are so grateful to have been able to attend the wedding and even more grateful that Kristin has found her forever companion. We love you both!
