Matt is the Man

Happy Matt Day!

Today in the Jensen household, we had double the reason to celebrate Matt. Of course, today is Father's Day! And, Tuesday is Matt's big 30th birthday. Since we'll be on a plane heading to Utah for the Jensen/Hilton wedding, we combined our festivities into one Matt-centric day.

The morning started off dedicated to Matt the Dad. And, what a Dad he is! Loving, patient, kind and fun! No wonder we all adore him. The girls were so excited they had to make him (and their grandpas) a special card.

They really had a lot of fun making this...

We are putting our foot down!

You are hands down the best Dad!

No ifs, ands or "butts" about it!

Ahahaha, Adelaide and Melinda crack themselves up. Eleanor just enjoyed getting to sit in paint.

We also got our beloved Dad a homage to his favorite food, the avocado.

Yum! We've already tried avocado hummus
and an avocado salad. Tomorrow we are going for the
avocado power smoothie and asian guacamole.

Then off to church to here more tributes to great fathers and where the girls made "I Love Daddy" crafts during nursery.

After a nap and a walk, it was time to switch gears to celebrate Birthday Matt! Out came the cake and MORE presents.

"Daddy's cake is on fire!"

Eleanor didn't eat the cake, she inhaled it.

With Mom's help, the girls made Dad a
Root Beer Home Brewing Kit. They even
colored some custom labels for his future brews.
He also received several Aikido books for good
reading on the flight to Utah.

Happy Father's Day and Happy Birthday Matt! We love you more than words or slightly inappropriate  cards can express.

On a side note, Eleanor isn't in this post a lot. Instead of posing for pictures today, she preferred to be climbing on table tops, smashing muffins in her hair and throwing toys in the trash - you know, fun stuff. But, we did snap some good pics of her and Adelaide earlier in the week. So, if you are a Eleanor fan (looking your way Jeff Parker), these are for you.

Adelaide is all about the accessories.

A quick trip to the park before the thunderstorms
rolled in on Thursday.

Whoops! Not quick enough. We got caught in
a down pour. It was exciting! Well, at least,
that's what Melinda thought.

Who wouldn't want to be splashed
by this AWESOME baby?

At our community pool party,
Adelaide won not one but two prizes -
goggles and binoculars.

Eleanor being Eleanor, she broke the goggles
before we even got to our front door. Atta girl.

    1. Yep! They are a dollar store toy. It pretty much makes no difference. But, we get a chuckle everytime she uses them.
