We were able to attend a small, quiet remembrance ceremony at the Falls Church Veteran's Memorial this morning. At least, we did for a little while. Eleanor began to get a bit "disrespectful" toward the middle so we walked down to the street fair where noisy babies aren't quite such a disruption.
The rest of the day we spent doing purely stereotypical Memorial Day activities. Napping (the kids at least), playing outside and barbecuing with the neighbors.
What's an afternoon at the park without bubbles?
Eleanor skipped the burgers. She just
wanted to eat large spoonfuls of guacamole.
Adelaide loves little babies. She had a picnic
with the BBQs youngest guest.
Filled to the brim with sugar, Haley and Adelaide
went up and down the slide dozens of time.
Annie was the only one that said, "Cheese!"
The League of Women Voters hooked them up with balloons
and the Chamber of Commerce supplied the purple lollipops.
And, we ran into a couple of
Adelaide's good buddies from school.
Did we mention Maura and Annabelle are
both a year older than Adelaide?
Future Olympic Basketball Team Captain!

Homemade popsicles - yummy!

I spent the better part of Memorial Day with little girls and popsicles too. We didn't go out as much, but I still think it was the best way to go. I'd love to know where you're getting your popsicle recipes from or if they're proprietary Jensen creations.
ReplyDeleteI just throw random fruits in the blender and hope they taste good. If I worry about the taste, I add a little honey to sweeten it. Or, if I make myself a green smoothie, I put any extra in popsicle molds for the kids. They don't even know they are getting kale and spinach in the pops. Tricky mom.
