For Mother's Day weekend, the girls decided to get together and give Mom a present that would really let her exercise her Mom prowess. They both got sick. Bummer.
So Melinda put on a dazzling display of all her best mommy-ness to nurse the feverish babes back to health. And, since Matt is released from the drudgery of homework, he shared the sleepless nights and emergency pediatrician visits with a dedication that is sure to earn him extra presents on Father's Day. He even took over the kids on Saturday afternoon long enough for Melinda to have a looooong nap - arguably the best Mother's Day present a girl could ask for!
Not that Melinda's other presents weren't awesome. She was truly spoiled this weekend from the thoughtful gifts to the gourmet salmon dinner.
Don't they look happy and chipper?
Oh girlies - you are worth it!

Flowers in her favorite color!
Eleanor is ready to liberate Mommy's present.
Adelaide made several beautiful cards and
a noodle necklace that said "Adelaide's Mom is the Best!"
Chocolate, flowers, a noodle necklace and a nap;
what Mom could need anything else?
But wait, what was in the BIG box?
A high-speed, professional quality blender!
Check out that almond, organic cocoa,
kale, and blueberry goodness.
Yummmmmmm! And so smooth.
So, Mother's Day weekend was a bit rough. But, that's okay. Because, with all the hugs, kisses, laughter and smiles, Melinda feels appreciated and loved everyday. Being a parent is a full-time gig, and we love every minute.
Impossible not to love this smile.
Adelaide grows more intelligent and beautiful by the minute.
We love spending time with these girls.
And building Noah's arks with them to
save Elmo and Snoopy from the flood...
(Okay, that was a bit of a reach, but our ark is cool, right?)
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Grandmas and Great-Grandmas that we love so much! We missed you today (and everyday).
