Happy Birthday Matt!

Today, Matt enters his last year as a young, hip 20-something year old. We considered including some jokes here about old, decrepit 30 year olds, but we fear reprisals from those who have gone before us into their third decade and beyond. So we'll just say, we're looking forward to all the good things year 29 will bring.

Despite old age looming just around the corner, we had a great time enjoying back-to-back Matt celebrations. Matt is so fabulous, two days hardly seemed like enough time to proclaim his awesomeness.

When we were first married, Melinda bought a shiny, paper, "Happy Birthday" sign that she would hang up every birthday. This year the sign was misplaced, so Adelaide helped Mom improvise.

A little birthday love from the Duplo blocks.

Even the gator got in on the felicitations.

Since Matt is so busy with schoolwork, he hasn’t had much time for his normal hobbies. So, the girls made this year an MBA-themed birthday. Matt’s stack of orange and blue wrapped presents included gator shirts, a gator tie, a gator mug and even a gator magnet. He’s all decked out Florida style. Eleanor even wore her Gator dress so she could match.

Adelaide saved all of the bows from Father's Day
and reattached them to the birthday cards we received in the mail.
There can never be too many bows.

What appeared to be an average, run of the mill
chocolate cake was hiding a little team spirit on the inside.

Equally as exciting as Matt’s new college-pride gear were the three large bottles of 18-year aged balsamic vinegar he received in the mail from Melinda’s parents. Delicious! In addition to being wild about avocados and crazy for expensive cheeses, we Jensens also have a thing for fine olive oils and vinegars. Fun fact.

Adelaide tried to abscond with Dad's vinegar.
Our little foodie shares our love of vinegar, olives
and expensive cheese. Trying to get her to eat
her mac 'n cheese is another story...

Happy Birthday Matt! We're so excited to spend another year with you.
