A Wedding and Memorial Day

Living on the opposite coast from the majority of your family members means you miss a lot of fun gatherings… birthdays, holidays, weddings…  That’s why we were so excited this weekend to attend the wedding of Matt’s cousin, Christopher!

Christopher took pity on us never having any fun events within driving distance and chose a beautiful Virginia bride (we’re sure that we were top of mind when he made the proposal). It was so much fun to see everyone on our home turf – and we felt so lucky to be able to celebrate with Christopher and Brooke.

Two new daughter-in-laws for the Goodales this year!
2012 has been good to them.

Adelaide was pretty impressed by the temple.
We're pretty impressed on how far her energetic little legs
took her around and around the temple and gardens.

The entire Goodale clan (minus the bride and groom of course), even came with us to church the day after the wedding. Here’s the line up.

A Good Lookin' Bunch!

We could have ended the weekend there and called it a success, but since it’s Memorial Day – we got another day to spend at home with our fun girls!

Adelaide’s been begging to go to the neighborhood pool since she saw them filling it up earlier this month. This weekend it is finally open – so she enjoyed some serious splash time.

Adelaide showing Eleanor the how to play in the water.

With this look, Adelaide is trying to say, "Mom,
stop taking my picture and let me dump this bucket
of water on Dad in peace...please."

Testing out the water wings...Adelaide was hoping she could fly.

Fortunately, Dad was on hand to assist with that.

Eleanor was a bit more ambivalent about the water. She allowed her toes to be dunked a few times, then took a nap in the sun.

Melinda didn't think that was
a half-bad idea either!

And, just for fun, here is our favorite Adelaide quote of the weekend.

Adelaide: Spoon and Fork are fighting!
(Enthusiastically conducts a one-woman sword fight with her utensils.)
Mom: Maybe Spoon and Fork should be friends.
Adelaide: (Shakes head.) Spoon is crazy. Fork is CRAZY!
(Fork and Spoon continue their onslaught until Fork is arrested by Mom for spearing the table.)
