Meet Adelaide’s little sister! Ain’t she a beaut’?

Sweet Little Baby Face

A Fine Silhouette!

Yesterday, at our 20-week ultrasound, we learned that we would be having another sweet baby girl. And, we couldn’t be more thrilled! She's just in time, as our last one is already turning into a rambunctious toddler.

This ultrasound was a lot of fun, and very different than Adelaide’s 20-week photo shoot. Adelaide couldn’t stop squirming, wiggling, kicking at the pressure caused by the wand, and generally making it very difficult to take any clear pictures. This little one was quiet and calm. She sucked her fingers, stuck out her tongue, and refused to uncurl from a tight ball, often pulling her feet way above her head and, in so doing, making it very difficult to take pictures.

We’ve already started getting questions about ther name. And, we’re 95% sure we’ve got one picked out. But, we won’t make any general announcements until the extra 5% kicks in. We will warn you all though. It will probably be another three syllabler. In a world full of LOLs and BRBs, there is a tendency to shorten, shorten, shorten. Melinda’s been fighting a battle against “Mel” her entire life.

What can we say? We like long names, and don’t mind the extra quarter of a second it takes to say them. We apologize in advance for any ink-shortages this may cause in the future if you send our kids birthday cards.

  2. Meh, it's a much better finger workout to type long names. You're doing the rest of us a favor. In fact, you're helping fight the obesity epidemic and therefore doing a good deed for America. Cheers to patriotism and your new little one!

  4. I think long names are great unless you have a last name with 13 letters in it. Than you start to worry about your child being able to fill in all the bubbles on those test forms without taking up to much time.

  5. My "Auntie Sense" failed me.

HOORAY FOR LITTLE GIRLS! I can see Matt with girls climbing on him in their pink nightie-gowns and ribbons in their hair, begging daddy to read just one more chapter from "Little Women" before bedtime. :)
