Over the holidays, there was a big change for a couple people in our family. Granny and Papa moved into an independent living center called the Belmont. It was a big change for everyone. Their home has been a family gathering place for decades. It's filled with memories and happy moments.
The kids especially felt this lose and worried about it. But, a quick trip to the Belmont assured them that the loving feeling they felt at Granny and Papa's came from the people, not the home. They loved the new apartment, the fun amenities, and especially the popcorn machine. Adelaide even asked if we could all retire there, because it felt like a vacation hotel.

January has been a slower month for us. Catching up around the house, getting back into the swing of things, and re-instating homework time (noooo!).
Yes, Eleanor wore those bears to church.
Cute Hufflepuff!
Jefferson used some of his Christmas
money to get a troll doll.
Is there any question whose homework this is?
Eleanor for the win.
Adelaide had to stay home sick one day and left a scavenger hunt for the other kids when they got home. Steven thought it was an awesome idea and tried to copy her by putting arrows on the ground leading to a Batman statue and a paper on which he'd written everyone's names and "I Love." It was very sweet, except instead of taping the arrows down, he glued them down. Ay yi yi. He was sad when Melinda took a mop to it, but recreated it with tape after getting his pouts out.
This way to Batman!
