Adelaide was sick earlier this month, and now the boys are down for the count. In addition, our elderly van turned over for the last time. It was old enough to have a high school diploma, so let's just say it graduated. Steven actually threw up at the Honda Dealer, all over a new vehicle (the outside, thankfully). So, it's been a pretty crazy weekend. We're all a little frazzled.
Between making (or trying to make) the boys rest and minivan shopping, we've managed to fit a couple fun activities in. Melinda got discounted tickets to a prescreening on the Lego Movie 2. The kids give it two thumbs up. Or, since Legos don't have thumbs up, two claw hands ups.
So, we pulled up to the Honda Dealer to check out new mini vans. A salesman came up to us immediately, and we were not 15 seconds into speaking with him when Steven threw up all over the hood of a new car, and then the sidewalk. He has never thrown up in his entire life. He has an immune system that should be studied by science. At least he saved it for an epic moment.
We were in a borrowed minivan, so didn't have the massive cache of cleaning supplies Melinda normally travels with. The salesman got us a trash bag for Steven to hold on his way home, and we left them to deal with the fall out. Sorry!
Melinda was all for starting our search over at another dealer.... or maybe in a new state. But, that dealer had the Odyssey he wanted to see, so Matt went back (sans Melinda and sick boys) and sought out the same salesman who had been on the scene for Steven's epic eruption. They went back and forth and Matt got the price he wanted on a brand new Odyssey. Maybe they wanted to cut a deal because it was the end of the month... maybe they were worried we'd bring Steven back.
Melinda didn't want Matt to buy the vehicle before she'd seen it. So, the poor salesman drove it all the way to our house so Melinda could check it out, then took Matt back to sign off on the final paperwork. Steven ran out happily when he arrived at our home and smiled at him, "I threw up on your new car." Yes, yes you did buddy.
But the kids are better and we're all so excited about our shiny new minivan. Can't wait for our next road trip.
The boys "resting" and fighting along side the TV ninjas.

Seeing a movie two weeks before it comes out
is AWESOME!
Matt also took three of the children to the Mormon Battalion to get some wiggles out. Melinda stayed home with Jefferson who wasn't well enough yet. They didn't stay long, but had fun while they were there.
Doll making kit.
Getting help making their dolls.
They even brought one back for Jefferson.
Steven clinging to Dad because
a sweet helper person tried to talk to him.
No school on the weekend!
