September in San Diego

September in San Diego is all sunshine and... well, sunshine. Plus, all the tourists are back in school so it is the ideal time to hit up the water parks and the beach. We did a lot of splishing and splashing the past couple weeks.

One weekend, we hit up the Legoland water park. The girls are tall enough to do some of the large slides now. We stick to the gentle ones, but they have so much fun. They still like doing the kiddie slides with their brothers too. Steven loved everything about the water park and was almost too brave running into the water and waves. Jefferson was much more cautious and a little uneasy about all the spraying. He was definitely not a slide guy. Maybe next year when he's older.

 Ready to splash.

A rare group shot, taken by
a friendly passerby.

Steven had a blast!

 Jefferson... not so much.
Too many people, too much splashing. Sorry dude.

 Wheee!!

The following weekend we played in Mission Bay at the back to school party. The group had rented kayaks and paddle boards. The kids kept us working shuttling them back and forth the to floating island.

Riding with Daddy.

Jefferson preferred to stay on land,
but there were snack tables, so he was
completely content.

Mommy paddle boarding while Steven back
from the float island.

At home, we had more water fun. Melinda got a hand-me-down slip and slide from a friend. We don't have much of a hill to slide down, but the kids made valiant army crawling efforts to ensure the made it to the end of the slide.

Again, it wasn't Jefferson's jam. But, he was happy to laugh at the other kids while playing in the play house. Silly wet brother and sisters. I'm dry and eating gold fish crackers. Ha!

Eleanor crawling and sliding her way to the end.

Steven was our fastest crawler, happiest splasher.

Adelaide took great jumps and could almost slide
to the end with her momentum.
