Eleanor's Big Night

When we renewed our Legoland passes, we were given one free night stay at the Legoland Hotel. We'd been waiting for a super special occasion to use it. And, what better occasion than the birthday of a super special little girl.

For Eleanor's big birthday weekend, we stayed overnight at the Legoland Hotel in a castle themed room. The kids were giddy with excitement. In the lobby were giant wells of legos to build with. A scavenger hunt around the hotel gave us the clues to open a treasure chest in our room, filled with Mixel sets. The hotel buffet had an ice cream machine!

Straight to building while Mom and Dad checked in.

Swim in legos? Steven's dream come true!

What's in the treasure chest?

Wahoo! Mixels!

They loved the sign, "Ye Olde Adults Keep Out!"
hanging by the kids portion of the room.

But, it didn't stop them from crashing
the "Ye Olde Adult" side of the room.

The kids had a blast spending the evening building legos, participating in lego building contests, dancing in the disco elevator (an absolute favorite) and eating way too much food at the buffet. Eleanor was SO excited for the waiters to come sing Happy Birthday to her. But, when they surrounded the table she panicked and leapt into Mom's arms. But, she was happy to climb down and sample the cake after at the crowd scattered.

In the morning, after a buffet breakfast in which the kids ate lots and lots of waffles, and after we visited the lobby bathrooms about ten times to hear the mirrors tell us how nice we look and tell jokes... we headed into the park. Hotel guests get in an hour early, and the kids were so excited to have nearly no lines at every ride.

Eleanor was especially excited because Adelaide's favorite ride, The Joust, has an age requirement of four years old. Even though Eleanor is tall enough for fast roller coasters (which she loves) and laser gun adventures - she's never been allowed to ride the lego horses around a whimsical medieval camp or joust with the Black Knight.

Waffles and pancakes... then, more waffles!

Hello Mr. Knight!

 Hey up there!

Have at thee!

Unikitty! When the picture was done,
Eleanor turned around and gave her
a big kiss. So happy to see
one of her favorite characters.

It was a great adventure to kick off our birthday celebrations for Eleanor. We're so excited to have this spunky three year old turn into a bright and brilliant four year old.
