We both had work conferences in Las Vegas this weekend. Matt needed to be in Vegas for an ASA healthcare valuation credential. Melinda needed to be there for the ABC Kids Expo to set up and staff her employer's booth.
What to do with our little family? Take them with us! We swapped adventures with the kids. Melinda took them to Ethel M.'s Chocolate Factory and M&M World while Matt worked. Matt took them to see the Eiffel Tower and Botanical Gardens while Melinda worked.
The best part of the chocolate factory
was when the one of the conveyor belts
got jammed and started spilling chocolate.
The girls banged on the windows until
the workers noticed. They were heroes.
Outside the factory is an awesome cactus garden.
The kids spent an hour running around the many paths.
Matt and the kids managed
to talk their way into the ABC Kid's Expo.
(Steven is in a carrier on Matt's back).
They got a huge kick out of seeing all the
up and coming baby products and toys inside.
Just like in their book!
They loved the gardens too.
It was a busy, but fun weekend. We had a few close calls with Adelaide. She's becoming a great reader and started trying to read the large billboards around the town as we drove from place to place. Vegas isn't a great place for kindergarteners to read billboards, so each car ride was spent playing eye-spy, singing songs, telling stories and anything to distract her from the road signs.
One road trip around town led us to the Silverton Casino and their mermaid aquarium. The girls are still talking about how amazing the mermaid was...
Making friends with a "real mermaid."
Steven even got a kiss.
