December! Oh how we love this month. A whole month dedicated to cheerful service, with our homes and communities full of beautiful symbols of Christ and so many fun family activities.
We've been crafting, cooking and having a ball!

Our velvet dresses are out!
(Thanks Grandma Gale for sending these cute outfits!)

And, the house is filled with Christmas cheer.
We made snuggly blankets, the girls picked
the fabric and supervised the tying.
And, at Home Depot the girls got to make
festive lawn stakes.
Super Eleanor loves it when
she's allowed to use a hammer.
They sure spruce up our front walk!
Poor Adelaide got the flu and missed the church Christmas dinner, as well as the appearance of Santa Claus. Poor thing felt so awful, she wasn't even disappointed to miss the opportunity to sing with the Primary. She just wanted to sleep with her bowl nearby.
She did get better in time to go to the school's cultural night! Good thing too, because our family was in charge of the Christmas booth with a couple other classmates. Adelaide and Eleanor helped prep all the crafts and pass out the red noses for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
We made dozens of string cheese snowmen for the event.
Eleanor helping set up the table and crafts.
We also got to learn about Kwanzaa, Pongal,
and the Lunar New Year.
There were some other fun activities at school this month, including a Father's Night where the girls showed their Dad all their classwork.
Adelaide showing off her mathematical skills.
Eleanor prefers the practical life lessons.
She made a delicious cup of orange juice.
We are so proud of both girls and how hard they work on their lessons at school. It's been so much fun singing holiday music, admiring the lights and nativities, and sharing the spirit of the season with them.
i would be so interested in checking out their school! we totally want to do Montessori with our potential little ones. let me know if there's another open house night? ;)
