San Diego

We're moving to San Diego.

It's true... well, Del Mar actually.

Look, we're even selling our house.

Coming Soon...

This was a tough decision to make. We love living in Virginia. It's a swing state, politicians and special interest groups market to us (or at us). We love being near DC, there is always something to do and so many historical sites to take in. We have incredible friends in the area. Melinda has a great job. The kids are in a fantastic school. Heck, Eleanor just barely got in after being on the waiting list for a year. Our pediatrician is ranked as one of the top in the country. Our house is in a blue-ribbon school district. We just remodeled the bathrooms. Our fig tree is enormous. The local football team has finally started winning some games. Melinda is vice-president of our HOA for crying out loud. Matt is a scout leader. We've got roots. We are ESTABLISHED.

A recruiter, or head hunter if you will, has been after Matt for several years trying to pull him away from his current position with job openings from across the country. He finally found one that was interesting. In fact, it was a great fit for where Matt wants his career to go and will certainly make use of  the new MBA degree.

And, our family is on the west coast. We've been campaigning for them to all move out east for years, but they've resisted even our most convincing arguments (i.e., Adelaide & Eleanor).

Also, Virginia gets cold in the winter. Like, brrrr... don't want to be outside cold. What's that about?

Matt's new company has generously offered to let him work remotely out of their DC office until our house sells, so the move date is still TBD. But, we've got an open house this weekend so we're keeping our fingers crossed!

  1. I cannot describe all of the mixed feelings I have about this post. But every time I get sad I think of this great Mexican restaurant a friend took me to in Del Mar when I was on a business trip and the beach. Mostly the beach. Safe journey friends!!!!
