When we first moved out to Virgina, Melinda had an aunt and uncle that lived just across the river in Maryland. We loved having them as our neighbors. It became even more fun when they had a little girl just two days after we welcomed Adelaide into the world. Perfect, right?
We knew that Adelaide and Olivia would be best friends forever.... until, they all moved to California! Booo! Sure the weather is beautiful, it's closer to the rest of our family and Doug got a dream job... but still...
We were delighted when they flew out for a quick visit to the area last weekend. Doug claims it was for meetings of some kind. But, we're pretty sure they just didn't want to hang out in San Fransisco after their old hometown team just whipped the Niners in the Super Bowl.
We were able to see the whole family at a brunch held for all of Angela and Doug's old friends. Adelaide and Olivia were shy for about five minutes - until they figured out they both loved dolls, spinning, and shrieking loudly. Instant rapport!
Thick as thieves...
A minute later, Adelaide turned her book into a hat too.
Both girls were very sweet about
trying to include Eleanor in the games.
Ring around the Rosie!
The whole gang!
(Except Matt... who was stuck doing MBA stuff.)
It was a lot of fun to see the Parkers. After a year of being close to home, we're looking forward to getting some good traveling in this summer to see everyone (after the MBA is done, that is).
