We had an exciting New Year's Eve...
The little Jensenitas are programmed to rise and shine by 6:00 am every morning. Got lost in a good book? Football went into overtime? Stayed up to herald in 2013? They make no exceptions. So, we were in bed long before the ball dropped in Central Park.
We love holidays, we do! But, we love sleep more. So, our New Year's Eve celebrations were limited. We tried to explain the holiday to Adelaide, who seemed to think 2013 was a store that we were going to and asked if Dad would come too.
Then we went out to an early dinner at a family-friendly restaurant (read as "pancake house") and got back home with plenty of time to toast the New Year in camaraderie with everyone in Greenwich Mean Time.
So, Christmas is over... that means winter is over too, right? Because now that those sleigh bells aren't jingling anymore, we'd really like some sunshine. Alas, snow in the forecast for today.
....okay, not really.
Zzzzz....

We also jotted down a few resolutions and goals for 2013. We're sharing them here because the pressure is on once you publish them publicly, right?
Eleanor had some help with her list:
- Play with family
- Get some teeth
- Learn to walk
- Sleep in until 6:00 am
Adelaide dictated most of these to Mommy. See if you can spot the point where Dad started "helping" her with her goals:
- Play with Mommy! Play with Daddy! And Eleanor!
- Buy more raisins
- Party! Party!
- Learn all the letter sounds and read a little bit
- Learn to count to 100 (half way there)
Melinda's already given up on one of her goals:
- Eat more vegetables and less cheese
Eat less chocolate< Hahaha, no way!- Write for fun
- Get better at Photoshop
Matt will be delighted just to get #1 out of the way:
- Graduate and then take a vacation
- De-junk the house (Melinda: Hey, wait! That’s my junk! Matt: You can buy new junk with garage sale proceeds. Melinda: Okay then.)
- Organize family history
When's the pool open again?
