A Visit From Oma

The girls were so excited this past weekend to have Grandma Jensen come out for a visit - or as Adelaide likes to call her, "Oma."

Grandma came bearing birthday presents!
Adelaide was almost as thrilled to get new
books as she was to see her Oma.

Eleanor's been practicing her
Grandma-melting smile for a few months now.

Matt took a short break from his school work on Saturday so we could do a family trip to the zoo. We scoffed at the 30% chance of rain, but should have known better. With two genuine Oregonians in our party, of course the rain would come pouring down. Fortunately, neither our family or the animals minded getting a little damp.

This clouded leopard (he's there...way in the back)
didn't mind the warm summer showers.

Under her awning, Adelaide was happy
to forge ahead through the storm.

Look, it's a Panda!
Putting this picture in just for Aunt Jessie.

The rest of our weekend was more low-key, in part because poor Eleanor got an upset stomach. How fortunate for her to have a Grandma on hand that was happy to rock and rock her until she felt all better. Before Grandma Barbara left, Melinda made all the Jensens-by-birth line up for a couch photo. Some couple dozen snap shots later, we remembered why it's easier to take candid shots of our children. Adelaide is a ham, and we love her.

Say "Cheese!"

Thanks for visiting Oma! Hope to see you again real soon.

  2. I'm with Kristin! Do you know, we don't have pandas at our zoo! It's a rip off.
