Eggs-traodinary Easter!

Happy Easter! Our townhouse got a visit from the cutest little Easter bunny.

Bunny Baby

Both girls woke up to Easter baskets stuffed with new board books, plush bunnies and pool floats. Adelaide was super excited about the new books, and Eleanor didn’t fuss when we subjected her to wearing bunny ears for half the day (so we assume she liked her gifts too).

Mom and Dad were delighted that the girls are more excited by new books than jelly beans and candy. We were able to completely avoid a toddler sugar high this holiday!

Easter Finery

Adelaide accessorized her Easter dress with
metallic, hot pink boots. She's awesome like that.

After church and a nap, Adelaide had an afternoon egg hunt. She had some practice earlier this week with an egg hunt at playgroup. So, she knew just what to do.

Finding eggs sneakily hidden on our front lawn.
Sherlock Holmes always said the best
hiding place is in plain sight, right?

After her first egg hunt outside, we had several encore egg hunts in the living room. In fact the plastic eggs went over so well, we’re planning on keeping them out for a while. Activities that provide a 15-20 minute distraction for Adelaide are few and far between.

In other egg-related activities, we dyed our eggs last night in preparation for the big day. We don’t have a lot of cute pictures of this event, however. After Adelaide learned she wouldn’t be allowed to drink the dye or bang the eggs on the table – she quickly lost interest. Eleanor, however, was excited to dip her egg.

Make my egg pink!

Despite having little interest in dying eggs, Adelaide did
discover a new love for Jello Jiggler Eggs. Food that wobbles!
She giggled and gobbled for minutes on end.

We did a lot of fun things today. But, the most meaningful time we spent had nothing to do with rabbits, metallic boots or colorful eggs. Rather, it was the time we spent as a family at church, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and glory of God's plan. With that in mind, we'll close this blog post with this parting thought  (Borrowed from Mormon.org).
