No Rest for the Weary

This morning, Melinda met with the prenatal specialists at Inova Hospital.  After a few tests and some more time spent reviewing past test results, Melinda was taken off bed rest. Wahoo!

Adelaide is slightly disappointed that Mommy is back on the ground playing with toys and asking her to do shape puzzles - instead of letting her continue the Elmo-athon that made up most of their weekend. But, Melinda is thrilled to no longer be making a dent in the couch while bumming off of friends and neighbors.

We're not totally in the clear. Melinda will probably have to check in weekly for tests through the rest of this pregnancy and is still on reduced-activity orders. There is a whole list of things that she is no longer allowed to do. But, that's okay. Who really wants to play basketball in their ninth month of pregnancy?

Here's a picture of our little trouble maker in the the making. This was taken last Thursday - she wouldn't cooperate for a head shot this morning.

She cuts a very distinguished profile.

  1. Take care of yourself, Melinda! And don't worry about Elmo-athons. Even if Adelaide watches a lot of Elmo for several months, in the end she'll be alright--and extra giggly and ticklish, not to mention very enthusiastic! (all of Elmo's finer qualities.)
