First Day of First Grade + A Visit from Grandma!

First grader alert! When did this happen? Will we be shocked every single year at how big our kids are getting? Because, we are SHOCKED! SHOCKED! Who told Adelaide she was allowed to grow up this fast.

Adelaide was SO excited to return to Barnard and see all her friends. Her excellent Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Andrews, will also be her Mandarin teacher this year, so she had no worries about going back. And, it only took a minute for her to adore her English teacher, Ms. Manibusan.

Officially welcomed, thanks sign!

Another photo op! Go get em' Adelaide!

While Adelaide was back to the ol' grind, the younger Jensens were enjoying a break. Preschool was closed all week! Fortunately, Grandma Gale volunteered to come down and watch them.

 Balboa Park with Grandma

Ahh, the elusive group photo... this is the
best of the twenty or so shots we took...

Reading with Grandma

It was a week full of forts, trips to the park, backyard kiddie pools, cookies, reading stacks of books, and more... Eleanor was pretty bummed when grandma had to fly back to Washington. But, hopefully Grandma and Grandpa will be back later this fall to meet Jefferson and read a few more stacks of books to the kids.
