The kids were sooooo excited to have a "Dad weekend." Sooooo excited. On Saturday was Matt's birthday (Happy 33!). And, today was Father's Day! The girls spent all week helping wrap presents and making dozens of cards.
Finally, Saturday came! Time for round one of Matt-celebebrations! Before we did anything else, the kids insisted Matt open his presents. Wait until after dinner... no way. Matt sided with the kids, so we started with presents. Then, it was off to Point Loma lighthouse for exploring and hiking.

High tide at Point Loma
Steven would have preferred we let him run
and skip along the edge of the cliff. But, he
got packed up for the hike.
Finally free of the carrier,

his sisters at visitor's center.

OOOOooo... Ahhhh....
These beautiful girls!
What a blaze! Poor ice cream cake.
The kids insisted on all 33 candles, no coping out with two "3" shaped ones. But, Matt handled it like a pro - all out in one blow. Go Dad! But, of course, our celebrating wasn't done yet. Because this morning we got to wake up and do it all over again!
Fireplace change out - new signs and presents!
The girls were ready with more
handmade cards. They each drew their
Dad as a super hero.
In keeping with the super hero theme, we gave Matt three sets of "super dad" presents. The first was his super hero disguise - a new leather jacket, hat and red tie. The second was his super hero outfit - a Captain America running shirt. And, finally, some things to help him pass along his "super dad" legacy - an Avengers story book and super hero lego figurines.
Reading super hero stories and playing with the figurines was fun for all. And, Matt looks super sharp in his new clothes.
Happy Birthday and Father's Day to a truly super dad!
