We miss the pumpkin patches in Virginia. They were huge, more like mini-carnivals than mere vegetable gardens. The giant slides, the huge bounce castles, pumpkin zip-lines.... ahhhh... fond memories.
We haven't been able to find an extravagant fall festival here, but we did find a modest pumpkin patch for a fun morning out. Jed and Eve drove down to get lost in the corn maze with us. And, they dutifully rode around the wilted pumpkin patch on a scratchy hay bale, pulled by a tractor, all in the name of being a good Aunt and Uncle.
We all had a great time.

Poor goat was in a make-shift pen, set up to make
the whole thing more "farmy," we guess...
Look Sunflowers!
Pumpkins at the patch were an incredible 2-3 times more than the grocery store. So, we stopped at Sprouts on the way home to pick up some carvers.
Bonus pics for grandparents... the kids looked so cute in their little Halloween outfits, Melinda tired to pose them for a picture. Eleanor was having none of that...
Smile!
Mom did snap this while Eleanor was contemplating
her next ridiculous face. She's a ham.
