August Visitors

We would be remiss in letting this month pass without mentioning all the awesome visitors we had! It was truly a busy month with lots going on with the move. But, we did our best to cram that all into our weeknights, because every weekend this month we were excited to enjoy the company of new visitors.

Matt's cousin Nathan and his parents were in San Diego for a summer vacation. While they managed to elude our camera, we enjoyed a wonderful morning at the beach with that gang. The kids loved playing with Nathan's children. James and Kristin even came down from LA to join in the fun.

Uncle James builds epic drip castles.

The following weekend, Jeff and Klisa came down from Santa Barbara for a quick visit to Grandma and Grandpa. We loved seeing them at the beach and for a quick pool party at our new place. Our kids have so much fun together.

Just hanging out, literally in
Jameson's case, on the golf course.

Adelaide would keep Bennett if she could.

Poor Matt missed our next round of guests, as he was stuck in Los Angeles for ASA training. His sister Jessica flew down from Oregon to staying with Kristin and James in LA. They are moving to New York in a few weeks, and she was getting in one last trip. The whole gang came down for a visit and we toured Balboa Park and enjoyed Coconut, Banana Cream Pie as an early birthday treat for Kristin.

Checking out the sites in Balboa Park.

Eleanor enjoyed riding the parking tram with Aunt Jessica.

Last, but not least, we ended the month with a visit from Doug and Angela! We loved living near Melinda's Uncle Doug in Virginia and are always so glad when they come down to San Diego to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. Adelaide and Olivia are just days apart in age, and always have a great time.

We were sad that our work travels had us miss Doug's older kids, Alyssa and Colin (plus his new fiancé!). We hope they come through town again soon.

Adelaide cried and cried when it was time to go,
these kids love their cousin Olivia.

So, August was exhausting, but full of wonderful memories. We had a lot of fun, we fixed a lot of door knobs, we unpacked a lot of boxes and we have quite a few more to go. Hopefully we'll be all unpacked by... oh, Christmas. If not that, Mother's Day at least.
