So, all this nasty, hot and humid weather has been great for our garden. The tomato plants are as tall as Matt. Today, we were able to harvest some fresh, delicious beets - the first of our mini-crop. The onions, jalapeños, and bell peppers will be ready in a week or two.
Jealous of that scrumptious bouquet of beet-y goodness? It's okay. If we were you, we'd be jealous too. Beets are the most delicious vegetable there is. Ask anyone, especially if they are one of the writers of this blog.

Mmmm... gotta love beets. (I actually love beets. Save me some! :P)
ReplyDeleteBetter get down here before we eat them all then! I'd bet they'll only last another couple weeks or so... We'll probably have another Fall planting too, but you'll be on your mission then!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's great you're already harvesting.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been so hot, the plants grew really fast. Our tomato plants are taller than me now, and our chives were over two feet until a recent hail storm beat them up a bit :).
ReplyDeleteI'm still jealous of your garden!!!
